In this edition of Wilson Center NOW we are joined by Gail Hershatter, Distinguished Professor of History at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Hershatter discusses her latest book "Women and China’s Revolutions," which explores how the role of women has changed in Chinese society over the past two hundred years. She also focuses on the labor of women in domestic and public space in China and how this has shaped the nation’s move from republic to socialist nation to rising capitalist power.
